So much shit is going on with finding work and it drives me crazy. For some reason almost every school in this damn country had to get know the teachers whether they have got the job they applied for or not in the last minute. There was the whole summer. Why do they have to do this during the week before school starts for fuck's sake? Two weeks or so could have been nice to think it over, but no.
Here is what happened: I was on a job interview this Tuesday. They told me that I have got the job, and I can start on Wednesday. I was happy. This school was about 51 kilometers from home. I have arranged the accommodation and printed out the syllabus and introduced myself to the fellow colleagues. On Friday I received a call from a school about 20 kilometers from home that they need an English teacher. 1) It was three days before school starts. 2) They couldn't have been more irresponsible to realize that they haven't got an English teacher at that point.
I didn't sign anything yet but I have made a promise. If I change my mind I'll become a traitor. The workplace which is further away from home seems to be a better school. I just wish I have chosen well.
